Allison + Adam's Wedding
Allison and Adam live in Seattle but have family in the DC area, so they decided to get married in Maryland. Allison and Adam are both Latter Day Saints (Mormons), so they began their wedding day with a formal mormon ceremony at the The Washington DC Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Kensington, MD). This ceremony was held for Mormon family members and friends, so the rest of us waited outside the doors as they joyously exited the temple as newly weds. We then proceeded to take family portraits and bride & Groom portraits around the temple. There are not many large mormon temples like this one, so we wanted to take full advantage of it's beauty. After portraits, we headed to a barn in Dickerson Maryland where Allison and Adam had a ring ceremony for the rest of their friends and family (who were not Mormons). I was able to photograph this along with the details for the reception at this site. Allison spent a lot of time putting together the small details to make this beautiful DIY wedding come together. This was my first Mormon wedding, so I was really excited to photograph it and was also very impressed with their attention to detail.
